NHP in the Community

NHP Supports YWCA Boston's Woman-to-Woman Outreach Program
At NHP, we demonstrate our commitment to health equity by channeling resources and energy into the community, making a tangible difference in the lives of the people we serve. Recently, NHP supported YWCA Boston's Woman-to-Woman outreach program, which is designed to help black and African-American women—who statistically receive breast cancer screenings less often than other groups—be more proactive about their own breast health.
More than 40 NHP employee volunteers, including NHP's President and CEO Deborah C. Enos, participated in a phone-a-thon where women were personally contacted by phone and reminded to schedule yearly physicals and mammograms.
The phone-a-thon reached over 1,000 Boston-area women, who received calls by volunteers who spoke their native language—whether it was English, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or Chinese. In addition, dozens of women were connected to health resources in their communities to assist with other health needs and concerns.
NHP is a long-time sponsor of YWCA Boston, partnering on outreach initiatives and wellness programs that serve over 4,000 Boston residents.
