The Over-the-Counter Drug Benefit
NHP members with pharmacy coverage have access to the over-the-counter drug benefit.
This benefit allows members to obtain select over-the-counter drugs, up to a 30-day supply, for only the copay cost.
A valid prescription is required, and the prescription must be filled at an NHP-participating pharmacy. Please note: under the OTC Benefit, only generic versions of a drug are covered when available (brand name drugs are NOT covered) - the prescription must allow for generic substitution if the OTC prescription is to be covered by NHP.
